Our History

Established in 1908, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 617 is located in San Mateo, California. The position in which Local 617 has situated itself as it turns 100 years old is nothing short of phenomenal. At the heart of today’s 617 is it’s Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (J.A.T.C.) partnership between the local and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). Together, this labor-management effort provides local, world-class and highly accredited educational programs for electricians in a modern training facility.
